Weekly Planning That Keeps You Ahead

Read time - 2 minutes

You don't need a complex system. You just need a rhythm.

Every week, I sit down for 30 minutes with one goal:

Set myself up to win next week.

Here's the 5-step method I follow—no fluff, just what works:

Table of Contents

1. Review the Past Week

Ask yourself:

  • What did I finish?

  • What slipped through?

  • What took longer than expected?

  • What gave me momentum?

Action: Jot down 3 wins and 1 lesson.

2. Prioritise What Matters Most

Look at your current projects.

What must move forward this week?

Action: Identify your 1–3 top priorities. These are non-negotiable.

3. Time-Block the Big Stuff

You won't find time—you need to make it.

Block time for each top priority before your week gets filled with noise.

Action: Add deep work blocks to your calendar.

4. Prepare for Your Meetings

Skim next week's calendar.

Do you know the purpose of each meeting? Are there decisions to be made?

Action: Write 1 question or goal per meeting.

5. Set Your Energy Triggers

Work isn't just about time—it's about energy.

Plan small habits that recharge you.

Action: Schedule a walk, gym session, or even a 10-minute break to think.

📌 One more thing: Don't aim for perfection. Aim for direction.

Planning your week helps you stay proactive, not reactive.
