On April 12, 2024, I published the first edition of The Saturday Mindset.
From the beginning, the idea was clear: share practical knowledge about engineering, project management, and taking ownership of your work.
Today marks the 100th edition.
What started as a simple weekly habit has grown into something meaningful—not because of one big effort, but because of consistent small steps over time.
Along the way, a few lessons became very clear.
Table of Contents
The main goal of this newsletter has always been to share ideas that help people think more clearly about their work.
Engineering and project environments are full of complex decisions—planning, managing risks, coordinating teams, and solving technical problems under pressure.
Writing about these topics every week forces you to simplify ideas and make them practical.
Many times, explaining a concept to others also strengthens your own understanding of it.
Action step: Share what you learn. Teaching or explaining an idea deepens your own knowledge.
Consistency Builds Momentum
Publishing one article is easy.
Publishing every week is where the real discipline begins.
Over time, consistency compounds.
One article becomes ten.
Ten becomes fifty.
Eventually, you reach one hundred.
The same pattern appears in engineering projects. Major outcomes are rarely achieved through one great effort—they come from steady progress over time.
Action step: Focus on consistent progress rather than occasional bursts of effort.
Simple Systems Make Progress Sustainable
Publishing weekly required a straightforward process:
Capture ideas during the week
Write and refine the article
Publish and share
Nothing complicated.
But systems matter. When routines are clear, progress continues even during busy periods.
The same principle applies to engineering projects and professional development.
Action step: Build simple systems that support consistent execution.
